A new temporary public toilet on George Street, Moe has been opened to the public.

The temporary public toilet has been installed in response to community concerns regarding utilising the existing public toilet facilities adjacent to the Moe Town Hall.

Latrobe City Council Mayor, Cr Kellie O’Callaghan said that the temporary toilet had been delivered in line with Council’s Public Toilet Strategy.

“The toilet unit was constructed off site and was transported to the site and installed last week.

“There are three cubicles, two multi-sex and one accessible toilet with a baby change table.

“It meets Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design principals and is fully Disability Discrimination Act compliant with the low floor height making it readily accessible to all users.

Cr O’Callaghan said that the temporary public toilet provides considerably more amenity than a demountable toilet block.

“The community of Moe have a brand new facility which looks pleasant, is conveniently located and valuable in terms of providing a service to the community and the travelling public.

“The toilet will be removed once a new facility is constructed as part of the Moe Activity Centre Plan and relocated within the municipality,” said Cr O’Callaghan.

“This is a great development for the community of Moe and evidence of Council’s willingness to listen to and respond to the concerns of the community.,” Cr O’Callaghan concluded.
